Welcome to my home page. I have been practicing law for more than twenty-five years, based in Washington DC, Brussels, and Salt Lake City. I am on the Executive Management Team of the Brussels-based First-Law International Network. I also serve in IT and privacy consulting engagements with HR Privacy Solutions (New York), Burton Group (Salt Lake), and Jeitosa Group International (San Francisco). I arbitrate domain name disputes before the World Intellectual Property Organization ('WIPO') in Geneva. I particularly enjoy working with clients who are entering unfamiliar territory -- new products and enterprises, new ways of doing business, new jurisdictions, new legal and compliance issues. Much of my practice centers on cross-border compliance issues, intellectual property, Internet and media products and services, privacy and data protection, digital identity, information security, and domain names.
